I get bored easily- especially with my hair. I have been short, long, blond, brunette, raven-haired, and even ginger. But for the past year or so, I've been trying not to change things up too much, because I'm trying to let me hair grow. With natural extension-type length as a goal, it's so frustrating trying to let my hair grow out because it takes. so. long. When I saw Elvive advertising their new Dream Lengths line of hair products, promising healthier, stronger, longer hair, I had to try it and see for myself whether it lived up to the hype.

I took the mandatory before pics, and started using the Shampoo, Conditioner, and No Haircut Cream (their post-wash heat protector which aims to protect against split ends and breakage). I had my highlights redone two weeks after I started but I did not have a cut. And because of the lockdown, I haven't been able to see my stylist in months, so my hair is untouched by scissors, colour or treatment since then (oh, the grown out highlights... I guess we're all about the ombre look this year).
The products smell lovely- and the smell lingers on your hair for days. Before this I'd been using sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner, so it definitely took a little while for my hair to get used to the sulphates again. I am obsessed with the No Haircut Cream, which feels awesome and doesn't leave any residue on my hair. My hair feels super soft, shiny, and healthy. After 3 months of washing every 2-3 days I've used about half the bottle of everything, so although it's not the cheapest product out there it does go quite far.
And now to the big question- does it work? Did my hair grow? Well, have a look for yourself. These photos were taken exactly 3 months apart. My hair grew about 10cm in that time. For me, that's a lot. Average hair growth is 1.5cm per month, which would have meant about 4.5cm in the 3 months- so it's double that. I've also definitely noticed a lot less hair breakage and hair fall, and even noticed some baby hairs around my hairline- could it be that not only is my hair growing longer, but there's actually more of it starting to grow?

While it's obviously difficult to know whether my hair grew because of the change in products alone, I have to say that I'm officially a convert. My hair is definitely longer, healthier, stronger, and it feels lovely. Will I buy it again when I run out? Yes, but maybe not right away- I miss my sulphate-free days, so will probably switch back to that.
